Thank you to everyone for all the wonderful surprises this week for Teacher Appreciation Week! I enjoy working with your children and watching them be excited about learning every day!
Enrichment Day
When I receive student Enrichment Day assignments, I will send them home. Enrichment Day is in the afternoon of May 18th.
Super Games!
Super Games will be in the afternoon of May 24th. Please make sure your child dresses appropriately and has sunscreen.
Multiplication
Please continue to work with your child to practice multiplication facts. During math class we have been learning multiple digit multiplication. Students are successful with the process of multiplying, but many are having difficulty with facts, which is affecting their accuracy. In order to receive an "M" on the final report card, students will need to complete 100 mixed multiplication facts in 5 minutes with 95% accuracy.
A Note About Reader's Notebooks
Students are now working on their final READO card of the year. As I did last term, I will collect Reader's Notebooks as students complete texts. All five texts should be completed by Friday, May 18th.
Good News!
Thanks to the help of your children, I am now officially certified to teach Gifted Students in grades K-12!
I have also mailed my National Board Recertification materials! Whoo-hoo!
A Few Notes about Pioneer Day.
As you may know, third graders have the opportunity to experience early American History by participating in Pioneer Day. This is an all day event that for our Tyler Run students, will occur on May 21st and takes place at Liberty Barn Church on Home Road. Thank you to Mrs. Yamokoski for volunteering to be our Conaway Class Pioneer Day Coordinator! She will work with other parents to plan the fun and engaging learning experiences for our students.

A huge thank you goes out to the Olentangy Education Foundation for accepting our grant, "Everyone Learns More Optically"! This grant acceptance has provided us with funding to purchase an ELMO document camera and projector. This unique technology will allow us the opportunity to bring learning to life and help all learners have greater access to learning experiences! Please consider participating in an OEF event or donating to the OEF in the future!
